Gary was brought in due to sad circumstances less than a week before Christmas.

He had been rescued by a great family some three months back, but sadly however much they did for hoim, and it ws a lot, their older incumbent cat would not tolerate him and the family knew that he would never be happy until he had a family of his own.

Find out what happened to Gary.....

Tinks is a female cat aged between eight to ten years, she has been spayed. She was rescued at the request of the elderly owners and has been neglected somewhat for many years. We are treating Tinks for a bad flea reaction, which had done extensive and painful damage to her skin. This seems to be slowly working, she has now stopped scratching and her skin has begun healing.

Hope was rescued from a garden shed at the request of the tenant. She was found to have a disability, likely a neurological problem. She lost her balance a lot and fell over when running.

After a long period of being fostered, she is now gone to a new home.

The two young brothers now have a loving family of their own and have been named Rimmer & Lister.

Lister & Rimmer hoave now been homed together!

Millie - Millie was the last of four cats surrendered from one home.

She was a confident and friendly cat and has now secured a nice family and home in the Hexham area.

Teddy - Was a young tom cat just under one year old. He too was from a multi-cat household and was one of several brought in to us by Social Services.

Teddy was also rather shy for the first few days but was soon a lot more relaxed and was homed within the week, thanks to our great weekend volunteers.

Olivia - Brought into us by Social Services, Olivia was one of several adult cats from a multi-cat household. She was initially quite shy but has a lovely personality and within a few days was much more confident and responsive to people taking an interest in her.

She was home quickly.

Katie - Another of the several cats admitted from the same multi-cat household . Katie was no problems at all and was an immediate hit at the Ark, she was found a great new home very quickly.

Bruno - was the first of several cats admitted via Social Services and was also the first to be found a new home.  He was a great cat, though we hardly got to know him as he was with us for a very brief period.

Hope - has now found a permanent home and has been formally adopted.

She was originally rescued by us from a garden shed where she had been sheltering. On admission she could hardly walk in a stright line without falling over, but seems to have learned to compensate for her mobility issues much better now.

These two lovely brothers were found a nice home together today after the second boy was neutered this morning.
Great thanks all all Ark volunteers and supporters who helped care for them, and have provided supplies, after their previous elderly owner had a bad fall and has been in hospital ever since.
Special thanks to Sharon who homed them, and to Emma who microchipped them both.

Raven - Now homed but returning shortly for a second neutering attempt, having suffered a dangerous fall in heart rate as a reaction to the anesthesia the first time around.

Patricia - Now settled in a loving family that adore her and have already had her vaccinated!

She was previously named Oreo and was rescued from a multi-cat household.

Molly & Jengiz - Originally admitted when there former owner lost her home these two lovely cats now live in the Denton area.

Floki and sister Helga - were admitted to the Ark when their former happy life was ruined by an unneutered alpha tom who moved into the street and kept attcking them.

Helga was also attacked by this unneutered tom, although she wasn't as badly hurt as brother Floki. They are both now together in a new home with a new family to look after them.

This stray cat had been living on scraps in gardens in the Gateshead area and his health was was rapidly heading down hill. Then a caring local resident noticed him and spent a while feeding him up a bit and trying to find out if he had anyone to care for him. It soon became very clear that he did not!

This is Rosie, she was one of two strays found together in the West End of Newcastle. She was scanned and a chip traced her back to a registered keeper who said that they had given her away to an unknown person and no longer wanted any responsibility for her.

Four siblings were rescued at sixteen weeks of age from growing up wild in gardens.
