Pepper is a three and a half year old spayed female cat. She is clean and quite loving with people. We are seeking a home from her away from children or other animals.

Angel

Angel is aged one year and seven months, she is spayed and microchipped. The more confident of the two sisters, Angel is the dominant one.

Maggie

Sister Maggie is probaly the most affectionate, though it does take her some time to trust new people. Maggie too, is spayed and microchipped.

Cleo

Young black and tan adult female recently admitted after living on the street for several months.

We will be getting her spayed and microchipped in due course before homing her.

Odin & Freya

Recently homed!

Odin and Freya are both two years old, and have always lived together. Odin, the male is male all black, he has been neutered. Freya, the female is tortoiseshell (calico), and has been spayed. Both are also micro-chipped.

The two cats have lost their home through no fault of their own. The pair are normally quite close and we would ideally like to home them together. They would be ideally suited to either a family or a quieter home'

Odin like to go out on the prowl overnight and return home the following morning for food, cuddles and sleep.

Freya doesn't need to go out much, and when she does she stays close to home. Both cats are clean and have no known health conditions.

Homing Policy Change!

Please note that as a rule it is no longer Westgate Ark policy to home adult cats into homes that already have encumbent cats living there. This is due the the high failure and return rate where the cats do not get on and the homing is unsuccessful due to tensions and hostilities between the cats.

Though some integration of adult cats is successful, all too often the homings are less than perfect and there is a lack of harmony all round.

It is not our policy to home cats into settings where there is a real chance of tension and we do not ever wish to ruin the quality of lives of cats already living happily in a home where their lives are spoilt by the arrival of our cats.

Also, we never wish to see the home-lives of people impaired by too many cats, who are hostile towards each other.

The Westgate Ark maxim is that if you have a happy cat or cats in your home then why risk upsetting the apple cart?

If it ain't broken, then don't fix it!

Kittens at the Ark

If you are interested in offering a home to a rescue kitten then please contact us. WE DO NOT BREED KITTENS but from time to time do rescue kittens and find them good homes!

All feral queens are spayed by the Ark before being either returned to the original site or placed somewhere better. Before being homed the kittens are all treated against parasites and will have developed to a safe age and weight.

All kittens homed by the Ark will be done so with strict neutering, vaccination and microchipping agreements in place, and veterinary insurance provision is also strongly recommended.

Items currently needed to help us care for our cats!

Cat litter, virkon, newpaper, kitchen roll/blue roll, flea treatment, wormers.

Anyone kindly donating any of the above items should please email us first to arrange a time to drop them off as the Ark is no longer manned around the clock.

Feral cats

We are always looking for home offers for feral cats. Feral cats aren't just strays, but cats that have had little or no human contact. We generally trap them from around the city and have them neutered and ear tipped. This isn't cruel, it just indicates that the cat has already been trapped and neutered.

Rather than putting them back on the streets we find these cats suitable homes, usually on farms/ stables/ smallholdings, where they can happily live outside, but have someone give a daily supply of fresh food & water and somewhere sheltered to sleep.

If you can offer a place for a feral cat please contact us!
