Supporting Westgate Ark
Here at the Ark we are open 7 days a week providing care for rescues cats and kittens. We are an independant social enterprise and receive no public funding, we rely on donations to help support the cats we care for. You can donate to two different funds, the vet fund and the general fund.
The Vet Fund
This fund pays for the spaying, neutering, and other vetinary treatment of the cats in our care.

We are so thankful to Westway Vets in Fenham for helping us to neuter/spay hundreds of cats over the years, and to Moorview Veterinary Practice for providing urgent and essential treatment. Their highly skilled and knowledgable team have provided us with first class care and life saving proceedures on many, many cats over the years. The black cat pictured above is 'The Lynx', who received life-saving treatment for bite infections in his tail and paw; he was then neutered and settled into a new domestic life!

Donate Items
Another way you can support us is to donate much-needed items that we use in the upkeep of the shelter and care for the cats.
We are extremely thankful to frequently receive cat food (of all kinds, treats too!), and that means that most of the time we don't need to ask for any more.
Here are a few things we do need:
- Flea medications
- Worming medications
- Clean towels and blankets
- Cat litter
- Pet-safe disinfectant spray
- Toilet paper
- Soap/sanitiser
