About this Service

This is not an admission based service, but a way helping those who need to find a new home for their cat through promoting the cat/s on our website and social media.

         Terms & Conditions

• By offering this service, W/A are not agreeing to admit into our care or ownership any cat/s (unless expressly so agreed in writing), but will help others to promote and secure new homes for cats where this is needed to help both the cats and the former owner.
• W/A make no representations and offer no assurances, warranties or guarantees as to the health, character or habits of any cat which we assist in helping to find a new home for. Persons offering to home to a cat should satisfy themselves as to the health, condition, nature and litter training of all cats before agreeing to take them in.
• Westgate Ark are not to be responsible for any veterinary or any other costs incurred by anyone in relation to cats that are helped under this scheme.
• Persons offering up cats for rehoming should make full disclosure to the new owner and to Westgate Ark, of all information relating to the cat which could foreseeably bear influence upon any decision to offer a home to any such cat or to take on responsibility in relation to such cat.
• This service is freely offered to both persons seeking to give up their cats and to those seeking to take on a cat. It is offered solely at the offered solely at the discretion of Westgate Ark.
• No money should be asked for, offered, accepted or otherwise change hands in connection with any cat/s homed with help from Westgate Ark through this service.
• Those giving up cats for homing should be prepared to transfer all ownership in writing to the new owner of the cat/s, though Westgate Ark strongly recommend that a trial period of one month is agreed under which the new owner should be entitled to return the cat to the original owner should they feel that the homing is not working out for themselves or for the cat.
• Rehoming cats is not always successful and the likelihood of things not working out is increased greatly where the new owner has other pets, particularly other cats or a dog.

For this reason, Westgate Ark strongly recommend that this service is not used by those offering to home a cat if they have other pets. There may be exceptions to this rule but extra special care is needed in such cases to avoid upset all round.
