Westgate Ark needs volunteers to help in the following ways:
We need lots of help with cleaning out pens, litter trays, keeping the rooms clean, feeding & watering the cats, giving medicines & anti-parasite products. On many days each week we have cats that need taking to the vets for neutering or other veterinary issues.
Once volunteers have been involved for a while they may be asked to do admissions, homings or go out on rescues or trapping feral cats for neutering and returning.
In the shop there is always a desperate need for persons to help with sorting through donated goods, pricing, displaying, serving and helping to keep the shop tidy.
Anyone who would be interested in collecting donations of goods for us to sell in the shop, and bringing them to us, would be particularly welcome!
Our Cat Cafe in Fenham is open seven days per week. We have a real shortage of volunteers who are able and willing to spend one day, or half day, per week in serving customers, looking after our eight resident cats, and keeping everything clean.
We need sensible and reliable volunteers who ideally should be able to commit to regular sessions even if only for a half day, or so per week, though longer is very welcome. It is important with volunteering not to commit to sessions that you are unable to keep to as if relying on you the Ark may be left in a worse position.
Volunteers will need to fit in with the working plans and policies of the respective managers in each area of the Ark, and to be respectful of other volunteers and clients.
